In 2024, &Tradition partnered with the Robin and Lucienne Day Foundation to reintroduce five designs by Robin Day.

These designs were originally created for the Royal Festival Hall in London, an iconic building erected for the 1951 Festival of Britain. The festival symbolised renewal, optimism, and hope, with Robin Day's designs capturing that spirit.

At the time, the RFH Lounge Chair was a prominent feature in the Royal Festival Hall's foyer, which overlooks the Thames River. Today, only a few of the original chairs remain, one of which is part of the permanent collection at MoMA in New York.

Despite its small size, the RFH Lounge Chair offers exceptional comfort. The low-profile seat has a striking silhouette, with wing-like armrests created through form-press moulding. It's crafted from beech and walnut veneer, featuring a padded seat and an irregularly shaped back cushion that enhances the lounging experience.
