Born in 1923, Ditzel was designing at a time where new materials and processes were emerging and produced innovative pieces in a wide array of materials including fibreglass, wicker and rubber\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDespite working in a male-dominated industry, Ditzel succeeded in becoming a highly successful designer, with a career spanning 60 years.
