They experimented with various leg configurations in both plywood and steel, though always with the sculptural moulded plywood top. The production of 4-legged CTW (Coffee Table Wood) and CTM (Coffee Table Metal) commenced in 1946. The design was a minimal statement in the use of wood and fixings, intended to be mass-produced, lightweight and functional.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eManufactured by Evans Products and then Herman Miller in 1949, the tables were produced until 1957. Vitra began production again in the 1990’s.
