The flared, expansive seat floats elegantly within the frame. The seat is far larger than the Diamond chair. It differs further in that it is raised on rubber mounts that provide visual separation from the base. The rubber bushes also provide high comfort levels through flexibility and movement. The generous dimensions allow for multiple seating positions for the user.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eHarry Bertoia’s work as a sculptor was translated into furniture design in the early 1950’s with a range of seating that exploited bent and welded steel rods.\u003cbr\u003e “If you look at these chairs, they are mainly made of air, like sculpture.
